1. About Substralis

Substralis (the “Service”) aggregates publicly available grid, planning, and energy-market data published by transmission system operators (TSOs), distribution network operators (DSOs), regulators, and public agencies across Norway, Denmark, Great Britain, and future European source coverage.

These terms govern your use of substralis.com and any product or service we provide.

2. "As is"; no warranty

The information available on substralis.com and through any Substralis service is provided strictly on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranty, representation, or guarantee — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including without limitation any warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, reliability, suitability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or merchantability.

In particular, we cannot guarantee that:

  • the data published by upstream sources is itself correct;
  • the data is current as of the moment you view it;
  • our derivations, aggregations, projections, or visualisations of upstream data are free from error;
  • a row, project, applicant, substation, or operator we surface is still valid, has not been withdrawn, or has not been superseded since we last refreshed.

3. Not professional advice

Nothing on Substralis constitutes investment, financial, legal, tax, engineering, regulatory, planning, or other professional advice. Substralis is an information tool, not an advisor.

You must obtain your own independent professional advice before making any decision in reliance on information provided by us.

4. Your verification obligation

You agree to independently verify any information you intend to rely upon, including by consulting the underlying public sources we cite through our provenance and source-attribution surfaces. Each data point on Substralis links back to the publisher that issued it.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Substralis and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, and licensors will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost opportunity, lost data, business interruption, or any other loss arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, Substralis — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

For paid customers, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to Substralis is capped at the fees paid by that customer to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For free-tier users, our aggregate liability is capped at one hundred Norwegian kroner (NOK 100).

6. Third-party data and attribution

Data presented on Substralis is sourced from third-party publishers under their respective licenses (Open Government Licence v3.0, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, Energinet Vilkår, NESO Open Data Licence, Northern Powergrid Open Data Licence, ENTSO-E Transparency Platform, and others). Each public data view on Substralis surfaces the originating publisher and licence on its provenance footer.

All third-party trademarks, names, and logos remain the property of their respective owners. Substralis is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the publishers whose data we aggregate.

7. No endorsement

The inclusion of a project, applicant, substation, operator, or site in Substralis is not an endorsement, recommendation, rating, or solicitation of any kind.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Substralis after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of Substralis will be resolved exclusively in the Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett) as the agreed venue of first instance.
